Teapots and Addiction...

Hello, my name is Annette and I'm addicted to online shopping!! ha ha jk. OK, maybe I have been getting carried away the last few nights shopping and bidding on eBay. But really who hasn't at some point right? Well last year some time my mom and I went to a local flea market and I fell in love with the cutest little Bailey's cream and sugar set. Now keep in mind I HATE tea and I don't drink coffee but they were just so adorable I had to get them. I couldn't resist!! So I bought the set for $4 I think it was. The following week my mom ended up coming back from another local flea market and low and behold she had found the matching winking girl cup for $1!! Can you believe that? So I decided these cups were just too cute and I needed to learn more about them. Yes, I'm a very curious person my nature to say the least. So I went online and discovered there was a whole limited edition collection that Bailey's Irish Cream came out with in 1996. The set included a Teapot, Cookie Jar, Cream and Sugar Set and the boy and girl mugs. Since then my life has been incredibly busy and I haven't had much time to devote to going thrifting or vintage shopping so up until a couple of nights ago I only had the 3 pieces I mentioned above. While I was laying in bed the other night I decided to look on eBay. Just to look ha ha. But I ended up finding several of the matching mugs I needed for my set. Naturally I bought them, no bidding involved. So the next night comes around and again I get back on eBay...notice a pattern forming? lol. I decided I just needed 1 more boy cup to have an even 4 boys and 4 girls cups so I bought another lot of cups. Bad I know. Now, last night again I get online and find a new listing for the matching teapot!!! Now the teapot is the most important piece right? Of course it wasn't up for auction and it had a kind of steep "buy it now" price. I hesitated for a bit then decided I needed it and here was my chance to own it!! By this time I had already searched online for the teapot and it was nowhere to be found. I bought it and now I'm like a kid all excited waiting for my packages to arrive!! All I need now is the cookie jar and my set is complete!! I'm pretty excited, is that sad? I'm sure we are all weird and collect different things but this was my story.

Who Am I & Why Am I Here?

Both great questions. My name is Annette and I'm a free-spirited twenty-something just trying to make the most out of my life. I was born and raised here in Central California where you see more dairies and fields then you see of anything else. It's not the most entertaining or glamorous place to live (obviously), but I guess it makes you appreciate the simpler things in life. I have a somewhat close yet dysfunctional family that I adore and a great group of friends that are constantly around and making me laugh. While I live in the #1 place for teen births (sad but true) I have no kids of my own...yet.

As far as why I'm here...I not only love to write but I've found it's a great way to help with my ever present insomnia. LOL. OK, seriously those aren't the only reasons but I'll get to the rest in a minute. I guess you can say I wanted to document my day-to-day life and the people/things that inspire me. I don't have any great expectations out of writing this blog other than maybe making some people laugh or maybe even inspiring a few people here and there. I may not be all that old but I have gone through my fair share of good and bad experiences and if I can help people from making the same mistakes I have, then I'm happy. So if you take the time to read or follow my blog I hope you enjoy it.
